South Asian Today is Australia's first media organisation for South Asian women and non-binary peoples.

Being founded in so-called Australia, we pay our respects to the traditional owners of the land - past, present and emerging. We recognise their ongoing connection to land, waters and culture. Sovereignty was never ceded. 10% of any money raised by us is donated to an Indigenous owned or led business.

We platform, empower and strengthen South Asian community through mixed media ways of storytelling. Born out of lack of representation for our narratives, South Asian Today aims to be a space where artists can collaborate, write, film, produce podcasts and share their work and commentary.

We are feminist and anti-caste and believe in shattering patriarchal norms that have long dominated and stunted our growth.

We are aware of a lot of spaces online where most South Asia ends up being just India and lot of Indians are represented in Bindis alone.

South Asian Today wants to break that cycle and push for narratives where South Asia is seen beyond hegemony.

That being said, we do not tolerate casteism, Islamophobia, homophobia, xenophobia and/or anti-Blackness.
