Support Indians with free food, oxygen, money, and medical assistance


India reported a global record of more than 314,000 new infections in a single day. The total number of COVID cases is almost 17 million. Videos of mass funerals are taking over the internet and the community is currently relying on fundraisers and donations as the lack of government help becomes clearer. The Modi government is not prepared.


These are some verified campaigns that you can donate to. They are helping with food, medical assistance, and oxygen.


This list is work-in-progress and will keep getting updated.

Support Two Dalit Orphan Minors In Surviving The Pandemic Induced Lockdown - Ankita (15) and Sunit (10) are from a small village called from Odisha. They belong to the Dalit community and live with limited financial and social capital in the village.

 

Help Shyama Singh - Riya is raising funds for her COVID positive mother. The family has exhausted all their saving on her treatment. 

Help Sex Workers at GB Road - Help sex workers at GB road in Delhi - the largest red light area in the state - source food, hygiene kits and other essential items. Sex workers are a deeply marginalised community and are often neglected by the healthcare system.

 

South Asian Today fundraised in Australia to support this campaign further from May 03 to May 04. 59 donors pooled in $3050 AUD in 50 hours. Receipt below:

 

  

Help Needy Rural Trans Folks - Started by Grace Banu, this campaign seeks support for several directly impacted, vulnerable, disenfranchised, and marginalised communities across the country. This includes transgender folk artistes,HiV infectected trans folks  from across Tamil Nadu, who are left with neither food nor wages and paying rent  in these difficult times.

 

South Asian Today has adopted this campaign to raise Rs 50,000

 

Australian Campaign for Artists in Crisis in India - With the support of MAV (Multicultural Arts Victoria) and SNS Arts Development Consultancy, Sangam Festival will direct support for the provision of supplies. This includes basic food staples such as rice, dal and spices for immediate needs for approximately 2/3 months. This is usually about Rs. 6000 (approx. $100 AUD) for a family of three.

 

People Power 4 India - In support of impacted migrant workers, adivasi (Indigenous) communities, transgender persons, people living with HIV, garbage collectors & sewer cleaners, domestic workers, and unhoused folks

 

Safe Period: Reusable Sanitary Napkins - Only 36% of India’s 336 million menstruating women use sanitary napkins. And with the Covid-19 crisis, this number has gone down rapidly. Your support can help provide a pack of reusable sanitary napkins, to women and adolescent girls in need

 

GiveIndia Essentials and Medications - Help 250+ NGOs associated with GiveIndia pool in sufficient funds to fulfil the need of medical supplies and essentials in over 150 cities and towns for them to fight against the second deadly wave

 

Give India Free Oxygen - GiveIndia will partner with Municipal Corporations, State Health Ministry, hospitals and doctors and key NGO networks, who have been authorized to supply equipment to charitable hospitals and COVID Care Centres

Give India Feed The Hungry - You can help provide cooked meals and weekly ration kits to poor families struggling with the poverty the pandemic has created

 

TWEET Foundation Fundraiser for Trangender Peoples - This pandemic has disproportionately impacted marginalized communities, among whom the transgender community in India is facing a particularly catastrophic situation. Funds will help cover ration, rent, medicines and emergency support

 

Nazareth Foundation’s Food Aid Project - Help Nazareth Foundation continue its food aid project that mainly helps Adivasi peoples and migrant workers

 

Khalsa Aid - Providing free oxygen and food to COVID impacted people across the country

CDDEP Oxygen For India - Donate to The Center For Disease Dynamics, Economics & Policy to supply oxygen across the country

Uday Foundation - Donates dry food and ration for the homeless

World Hunger Warriors - World Hunger Warriors is providing hot meals to a slum in Koramangala. Many of the residents have lost their jobs during the pandemic and do not have access to three square meals a day or clean drinking water

 

1million meals for excluded women & children in Covid-19 - This project will distribute 1 Million Meals to the Apne Aap women in the red light areas of Kolkata, Forbesganj,Bihar and Delhi who are hit hard in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic

Urgent on Ketto - Sourcing funds for Sai Prakash Sevakula and Lalitha Sevakula / critical condition due to COVID (no foreign funds allowed)

Zomato Feeding India - Purchasing and distributing  oxygen concentrators to hospitals and patients as required

Goonj’s Rahat COVID - Essentials for daily wagers and migrants

 

Enrich Lives Foundation - Making sure the country's poorest communities have access to food and groceries during these unprecedented times.


Khana Chahiye, Mumbai - To meet immediate food demands of the homeless, migrant workers, daily wage labourers, and other vulnerable populations in Mumbai


Support COVID-19 Hit Families - To provide a safety-net for the thousands of poor labourers who have lost their jobs due to Coronavirus


Hemkunt Foundation - Providing free oxygen to COVID patients

Milaap Relief for Marginalised Women - Help support 300+ daily wagers and their families in the resource poor and low income areas and some other daily wagers from across the country


Help marginalised children get education at home during COVID - Your support will help us provide children with smartphones/tablets and internet connection for online education, and mid-day meals


Our Democracy - Mobilises funds to support the mental health needs of COVID-19 frontline workers and relief volunteers by providing free support groups, therapy and access to a helpline to them.
